Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Huu Yen – Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology – stated that, as the leading economic and science-technology center in the country, Ho Chi Minh City is striving to concretize Resolution 57-NQ/TW, addressing practical challenges in the fields of Transportation, Health, Education, Environment, Tourism, etc., based on data, digital technology, and artificial intelligence – advanced technologies that can be implemented in the specific context of the city. The Techmart specializing in Digital Transformation for Smart City Development in 2025 is an important step in promoting linkages, cooperation, and technology transfer, acting as a bridge between scientific research and practical needs, aiming to improve the quality of life for citizens, increase the effectiveness of government operations, and create momentum for the development of the business community.

Nguyen Huu Yen, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, delivered the opening remarks at Techmar.
Showcasing over 100 technologies and devices (divided into four groups: urban management, healthcare, education, and tourism) from 50 domestic and international institutions, the Techmart specializing in Digital Transformation for Smart Cities in 2025 creates a space for connection, sharing, and cooperation, connecting supply and demand, and bringing technology from institutions and businesses to units in need of application. The event is expected to help transform ideas into solutions, provide a platform for sharing experiences, building partnerships, and contributing to the overall digital transformation strategy, helping Ho Chi Minh City move faster on its journey to building a smart city – a city that operates on data, is intelligently connected, and is people-centered.

During the Opening Ceremony, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology officially launched the expanded version of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Portal (Techport.vn) – serving as an online technology exchange platform and a central hub connecting technology supply and demand in the city and surrounding localities. The new version of Techport is designed to be user-friendly, integrated, and modern, while also consolidating databases from the former Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Ba Ria-Vung Tau. This consolidation creates a large-scale dataset, enhancing the efficiency of services for businesses and supporting localities in promoting the development of the science and technology market.
Alongside the Technology and Equipment Exhibition Area, the organizers of the 2025 Techmart specializing in Digital Transformation for Smart Cities also held 14 technology demonstration seminars and a free expert consultation area with 8 experts from institutes and universities to support businesses and organizations in selecting and implementing effective digital transformation solutions. All information and functions of the 2025 Techmart specializing in Digital Transformation for Smart Cities are also available on https://techmart.techport.vn/ – a 24/7 online exhibition platform, allowing users to visit anytime, anywhere without time or distance limitations (lasting for 3 months). Digital booths, video demonstrations, and online interactive functions support the visual presentation of technologies and equipment, facilitating quick connections between suppliers and buyers.
