“Flood and landslide warning system using AI camera” by students of Binh Tan High School, Binh Tan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. As part of the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation, Science, Technology and Creative Entrepreneurship Week (WISE) 2025, the semi-finals and finals of the contest “AI Hackathon 2025 – Creating a digital life” have just officially taken place on the evening of November 28 at the Ho Chi Minh City Innovation Startup Center. HCM.

With the project of warning floods and landslides with AI, students of Binh Tan High School excellently won the first prize of the AI contest
The contest is a creative science playground for students in the city, organized by the education sector in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City and KDI Education. Starting from October 2025, the playground attracts nearly 400 teams in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City with 3 exam boards for Primary (Group A), Secondary (Group B) and High School (Group C) students. With the theme “Artificial Intelligence for Life”, the AI Hackathon 2025 playground creates opportunities for students to promote their creative thinking, programming skills, and problem-solving thinking through the creation of products with AI applications.
After a day of dramatic and creative competition, the Jury found the best teams in all three groups. This year’s outstanding projects all show the outstanding maturity of students in approaching and applying artificial intelligence to solve practical problems of society.
In Group A (AI Codings) for primary school students, the first prize belonged to team A119 from Vo Thi Sau Primary School (Phu Thanh Ward) with the project “AI Prism”. The product applies AI to detect fraudulent links and messages. Simple but effective design thinking and confident presentation helped the team fully convince the Jury.

The teams won high prizes in the competition in the secondary school student group
Group B (AI Robotics) for secondary school students witnessed the breakthrough of the alliance of B102 – Nguyen Gia Thieu Secondary School (Phuoc Thang Ward) and B069 – Phuoc Hiep Secondary School (Tan An Hoi Commune) after overcoming a series of heated matches to be crowned champions with extremely impressive scores.
In Group C (AI Hackathon) for high school students, team C021 – Binh Tan High School (Binh Tan Ward) excellently won the Champion Prize with the project “Flood and landslide warning system using AI camera”. The project was highly appreciated for its technology, scalability and positive impact in climate change response.

In the primary group, many excellent projects won awards
Mr. Pham Huynh Quang Hieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh City said: “The teams participating in the final round of this year’s AI Hackathon have shown creative thinking and excellent competitive spirit.
